Birdfy Feeder Metal 2 4K - Smart Bird Feeder with Camera

I have Seven Birdfy products and I must say this is one of my favorites. For several reasons 1. The 4k picture quality makes me feel like I’m getting a mini motion picture every time as you can see in the videos I have included. 2. I like the fact that the fill space is large so I’m not having to fill it constantly 3. It’s metal. Anyone who feeds birds know that regardless of the seed you use or baffle sometimes critters will still invade your feeder. With the metal they are unable to chew it up and I love that. 4. I mean look at it. It’s beautiful. The color blends in with nature and Birdfy really paid attention to the details and that’s something that I appreciate. 5.My perch pals love it as much as I do! 6.Excellent product that may look intimidating, but it is very easy to set up. It has a solar panel attached so you don’t have to plug in something extra 6. if for some reason, you have a lot of cloudy days and need to bring it to charge, the camera separates from the feeder, which I also love, as I only have to remove the camera and not take down the whole thing. I hope this helps anyone interested in a smart feeder. This is an excellent choice!!!!

I have been a Birdfy owner since the original was offered through Kickstarter, and they just keep getting better. The ease of setup and AI features are outstanding. This new metal birdfeeder has stood up to squirrel visitors, and the picture clarity is great. I have really been enjoying it.

From its solid metal construction and elegant finish to its generous seed tray and clean wooden perch, this feeder really shines! It’s a breeze to set up and, very importantly, to clean. I like that I can remove the camera unit to clean or charge it. The images are crisp and beautiful. So far it seems very sturdy and the birds visit it often. At first we had connectivity issues, but the Birdfy customer support team are so helpful and responsive. Highly recommend this feeder!

The video image and quality are excellent and the Birdfy app is easy and straightforward to use also. Keep in mind, the higher the video and streaming resolution is set in the app, the better the signal strength needs to be for smooth playback. All in all, my wife and I are loving this 4K Metal Smart Bird Feeder by Birdfy! Highly recommend!!

This is my 2nd Feeder that I've purchased from Birdfy, the 1st being their deluxe Bamboo feeder, and it's a great upgrade! From the improved camera to the integrated solar charger, it's so much easier to clear and refill. I will say that if you like to put in 2 types of seed (one type per compartment), use a funnel or piece of cardboard to keep them separated when pouring. The metal housing stands up to the weather a lot better than the bamboo and makes it easier to clean, it will end up being a lot more durable come winter too. The birds love the wide openings in the seed guard, which helps to keep the seed in the trough. We capture all types of shenanigans and special moments. It's great to see parents bringing their babies to the feeder and teaching them where they can eat. The app is great to use and allows easy sharing and stats. As a bonus, I get to play America's favorite game every night after sunset: "How Many Birds!?", where I guess how many birds visited the feeder that day. We own a number of Birdfy devices (multiple dual cam nest boxes, the birdbath and dual cam hummingbird feeder) and we love them all. They definitely make our yard a better place for our enjoyment and the bird's comfort.

I love the overall aesthetic of this feeder, and some of the features are big improvements. Overall, though, I thinks the design and position of the camera give me much worse images compared to the basic plastic model. The camera angle can’t be adjusted, and my birds like to hang out in spots where they are hard for the AI to capture good images (see images for old vs new camera). The 4k camera is also not as impressive leaps I thought it would be. The videos are tilted, and the frame grabs are less than ideal no matter how much I play with the settings.

This is our second Birdfy feeder. It's very well made and should hold up in the damp weather we have here in western Washington. I like the the ease of refilling with the hinged roof, and the camera is simple to put in and remove. I had an issue getting the camera added to my Birdfy account. The customer service via chat was excellent and got things sorted. It has been working well ever since. The ai bird identification works well, and seems to be getting better as time goes on.

I was so excited to order the new Birdfy Metal 2 4k smart feeder! It's exactly what I expected with attractive new features, perfect size, and built even tougher. I love the unique darker shade of green and the easy pull out camera compartment. It makes it simple to access the camera. My bird post is still a project in the works but you can see how nice it looks on the back side of my original metal feeder.

Great quality images, the squirrels still find a way to land on here but it's chew resistant and has a two way speaker to attempt to scare them off. I must have deaf squirrels at my house haha. Love being able to bird watch from my phone while taking care of my son. Easy assembly and beautiful bird feeder. Not giving five stars because the connection is not 100% and after charging I have to restart the camera or it won't provide video even though it shows up as “connected”. Overall, great product and would love to purchase add-ons for this product in the future

I’m absolutely loving the feeder. We got lucky enough to have bird visitors within one week of setup, and since then it’s been absolutely NON STOP mealtime for the birds in our yard. They are so hungry!!! We get squirrels when the birds are taking a break from eating but the metal feeder keeps them from destroying the equipment and depleting the food supply. A great technology if you are concerned about critters. Regardless, we are so happy to watch the footage. The quality is amazing and it brings us so much joy. Setup was super easy as well. Smiles all around.

The canera doesnt work, it wi t hold a charge. For whatever reason, the solar panel doesn't help it hold uts charge at all. Tested it iut in full sun and it doesn't charge at all. I think I bought an overpriced flawed birdhouse. Super disappointed.

We decided to upgrade to this feeder because we get a lot of squirrels, raccoons, and possums. Those critters were destroying the plastic parts of our original Birdfy by chewing through the tray cover and tray, etc. The metal version is good, but we have several complaints about it and Birdfy should consider these items when designing the next iteration. - We use the "hanging" mount attached to our fence. It makes it simple to take down, but a raccoon knocked it down and that fall broke the antenna on the camera. The hanging mount should come with some sort of positive attachment device like a snap, etc. I am still trying to figure out a graceful way to lock this down in some way to the mount. - The solar panel is small and on one side. If your location is shaded in any way, the panel will not keep up with battery use. We ended up adding a detachable solar panel. - The roof (lid/cover) opens easily, and locks down with two small magnets. These are no where near strong enough to keep the lid closed with any critters. The lid flips open really often when any larger critter comes in. I solved this by attaching a long flat magnet (like you'd use to keep a metal cabinet closed) and that is working well. - Second Birdfy. Second broken WiFi antenna. These need to be more durable or flexible. Our original camera antenna broke at the elbow. This camera's stiff antenna had it's plastic housing snap when the raccoon knocked it off the mount. Overall, the reason we bought it is to prevent chewing, which this solves, but the other concerns make this set up a 3. We love the quality of the camera and the photos, and this is much easier to clean, but these other shortcomings really degrade the experience.

If I could leave 0 stars I would. If you want to spend $250 for the camera to just not work, because of constant server issues then look no further. There are constant and I mean it happens weekly, and more that their servers go down and make your camera useless. This was my 2nd purchase from them, my first was great hardly no issues. But since June it has been issue after issue. Take your money elsewhere. The customer service is just as awful.
