I absolutely love this hummingbird feeder for several reasons! One, it has enhanced my love for hummingbirds exponentially just because I can view them so closely now. Second, I use the camera to catch orioles eating jelly in their feeder. This has been one of my best gifts ever!
Love it for adult hummingbirds that are coming for a quick treat and can escape from predators. Battery last pretty long even without the solar power!

I purchased the Hum Feeder a month after I received the Metal Feeder as a gift. I am in love with the quality photos and videos of the birdfy cameras. After the fall migration of the hummingbirds leaving my area, I was sad to have to remove my camera…until I figured out how to repurpose the camera unit! I have hung the camera on a S hook and put a suet feeder in front of it! Now I can still enjoy capturing bird activity throughout the winter!

I saw a hummingbird in my yard, and decided to add this along side my regular Birdfy feeder. The little guy was there by the next day, and there is a constant stream of hummingbirds enjoying their cocktails. I love seeing them every day! A true delight.

The unit is very hard to assemble and disassemble. It's hard to get the camera portion into the bottom and have it sit correctly and turn and rotate into place easily. Removing the nectar pan beneath is nearly impossible unless you have NFL player-sized hands. I'm sorry I requested these for a gift (both models I received are hard to use); if they weren't gifts, I would have returned them. Also didn't buy the AI feature as we only have one type of hummingbird in our area, but thought it would at least just say "Bird" for any motion detection. It does not, so you have to sift through every recorded movement, which is typically just wind, to determine if there was a hummingbird visit-- but there aren't any hummingbird visits as they don't seem to like the feeder. I'm going to go back to my small, easy-to-fill, remove, and clean non-camera one which doesn't hurt my hands and wrist or involve wrestling to use. Such a disappointment. Was really looking forward to getting to see the hummingbird visits on camera since they don't hang around long and are hard to spot anyway. Maybe the newer model with the longer tube is better, but not a fan of the obnoxious logo down the front of the tube. Will look into other brands of hummingbird camera feeders.
I got this feeder for Christmas and was super excited, because I already have 2 regular feeders from Birdfy that I have loved for years now. However, my experience with the hummingbird feeder has not been great. I got the feeder set up in the spring and within a few weeks I could tell that there was a bad seal somewhere in the camera. There was water getting down in it, and messed the camera up. I reached out to Birdfy, and they very happily corrected the situation, by replacing the feeder. I got the new feeder, sent by the Amazon distributor that sent the first one. The replacement feeder had clearly been opened, so I’m not sure if it was a return, or was just opened to remove the solar panel, as it wasn’t in the box. Nevertheless, I got the new feeder set up and have been enjoying the hummingbirds. However, I have to regularly perform a reset on the feeder, as it doesn’t trigger to record regularly, regardless of the settings. More than half of the time, I can sit and watch the hummingbirds at the feeder and the camera never triggers to record. It will work great for a few days after a reset, but that doesn’t last. These feeders cost too much for them to not work properly. Just disappointing.

We have the add on hummingbird feeder with our Birdfy feeder. It is nice to get the close up video of them. For those that live east of the Mississippi River, you really have zero need for the AI app because the only hummer we have back east (normally) is the Ruby Throated.
I used this for one summer, and it caught great videos of the hummingbirds, with close detail of the feathers and wings. But the thing was so difficult to disassemble for refilling and cleaning that I gave up on using it as a feeder and tried to use it as just a camera. It’s designed for close-up shots, so anything more than a few inches away is blurry. I ended up going back to my simple regular feeder.
The unit refuses to connect to eero WiFi. We pop have tried disabling wpa3. We turned off the 5G network. We reset the device, reset the network, tried with multiple phones. In no case would the birdfy device connect to the WiFi or update its firmware. It simply won’t work.
This is a gift for my father. He has a verify regular feeder and loves it. He also has regular hummingbird feeders so I thought he would really enjoy this.

I love it! I just wish more hummingbirds would come! The video recordings are good quality and the colors are sharp! I love how it slows down when the hummingbird comes so that you can see it well. I have a regular bird camera that is nowhere near as good as the Birdfy!

Ordered this for my mom’s birthday as she is OBSESSED with hummingbirds and was easily let down. It worked for maybe the first day and caught quite a few videos but then was followed up with connection issues and the camera not loading. We reset it multiple times without luck and ended up returning it. A good thought but needs improvements.
Super easy to set up and clean. Hummingbirds started visiting the same day! It's adorable and doesn't take up much space at all.
