Free unlimited species ID · Plus / Pro subscription available
Bird ID is free, automatic bird species identification that comes with every Birdfy. Whenever a bird stops by, your Birdfy identifies it in the app: 6,000+ species, as often as they visit.Enjoy unlimited identification across all 6,000+ supported bird species, free for life, across all Birdfy smart birdwatching device models, from November 1. No species ID subscription required.
It comes down to how much detail you want. Bird ID tells you who’s visiting. Plus and Pro go further: male vs. female, juvenile vs. adult, possible sick-bird alerts, and non-bird visitors like squirrels and raccoons. These additional insights depend on the species and the detail visible in the recording.
Absolutely. You chose Birdfy when bird ID still cost extra, and we haven’t forgotten that. Your AI Lifetime keeps everything it had: male/female, age, possible sick birds and non-bird visitors. Nothing is taken away.
Besides species and the deeper details above, you get visitor alerts based on your settings, auto-edited Highlights and Recaps. And as a thank-you, every AI Lifetime device gets 3 months of Pro, free (limited time).
Anytime between Nov 1, 2026 and Apr 30, 2027, open the app → Membership Center → My Subscriptions → Redeem Plus/Pro Benefits. It’s active right away.
Every AI device activated before Nov 1 can claim 3 months of Pro once. Have more than one? Claim for each, and the months stack.
If you’re on Free:
You receive 3 months of Pro membership.
If you’re already on Pro:
The 3-month Pro will be added to your account.
If you’re on Plus:Your remaining Plus time will be upgraded to Pro, and you’ll get 3 extra months of Pro for free. For example, if you have 3 months of Plus left, you’ll get 6 months of Pro.
No. Your device’s original AI Lifetime benefits remain in place after the gifted Pro membership ends.
We bought this camera to watch our bluebirds fledge. After that we moved it near our birdbath and feeders. Imagine our surprise when we started seeing our nighttime visitors. Although we take our feeders in at night, the seed that fall on the ground attracts deer, foxes and raccoons. We are loving this but wish a higher resolution camera was available as a stand alone. Thats why we rated it 4 stars instead of 5.
Birdfy Cam 2K - Smart Birdwatching Camera Traditional bird feeder companion
Nice versatile camera with solar panel. Mounting was simple on a standard size double Shepards hook. Extremely Versatile and moveable to different areas of the garden. Connection is stable and charging is up to par.
The cardinals make my day when they visit frequently. I absolutely love and appreciate my Birdfy-Cam which I received from my daughter and (to be) son-in-law for my Mother’s Day & birthday gift. I’m looking forward to adding on-to my feeder and purchasing future items! Thank you!!!!
Birdfy Cam - Versatile Standalone Backyard Birdwatching Camera
This was one of the best gift I have gotten love watching the birds daily
Birdfy Cam - Versatile Standalone Backyard Birdwatching Camera
I absolutely love the Birdfy stand alone cameras. They allow me to move them around easily to other areas in the yard. The initial set up has easy to follow, step by step instructions. You will love this camera !

I love both my feeders so much ! 2 days ago I saw my first bluebird at my feeder! It brings me so much joy to care for these small creatures!
Birdfy Cam - Versatile Standalone Backyard Birdwatching Camera
I bought the Birdfy (Bamboo) Smart Birder Feeder with Camera & Metal Guard a few days ago and just got it up. I must admit this is the Rolls-Royce of bird feeders. I am an engineer and can see the thoughtful engineering throughout. The material quality is top-notch, and I love the simple design. I like the two-chamber design because it allows me to experiment with different seeds to see what each type attracts. The metal guard helps with spillage. Also have a Birdfy nesting box, and what I noticed about that the wood weathers pretty fast. So for this one, I sprayed on some sealant. We'll see how that goes over the winter. It comes with a perch extension (another thoughtful piece of engineering). I installed it as I have another feeder focused on the smaller birds. I have a significant squirrel problem, so I engineered a little anti-squirrel hanger that attaches to the standard mounting bracket. We'll see how it fares against those clever little devils!
Birdfy Cam - Versatile Standalone Backyard Birdwatching Camera
I have three Birdfy Cams as well as the Bamboo feeder with camera, and in general, I love them. Once I tweaked my settings, the images were amazing, and I really enjoy the video from my suburban backyard. The only downside I've found is that the sound can really come and go on all of the cameras. My oldest camera (approximately 8 months old now) mostly crackles and tends only to pick up the occasional loud sound.

Would prefer the recharging cable to be relocated on the bottom of the unit (eliminate water intrusion),

We’re enjoying the camera greatly, especially my developmentally disabled daughter who watches online. I’m sure the solar panel will be more efficient in the summer months.
Birdfy Cam - Versatile Standalone Backyard Birdwatching Camera
Love my birdfy camera! This is my second one because a squirrel took my previous one out during a thunderstorm.

Loving this camera! We found out that not only is our pond great for the birds but that it’s also a cat hot spot at night!

This camera and app is way better than a cheap knock off I accidentally bought. I am looking to buy another one.

Birdfy Cam - Versatile Standalone Backyard Birdwatching Camera
Fun experimenting with positioning the camera and adjusting the distance for good shots.
Birdfy Cam - Versatile Standalone Backyard Birdwatching Camera
Bought two units, I'm probably going to get a few more. Super convenient to set up. I use one for a pet cam to watch the bunnies from work and keep an eye in our bees as well. Very nice pictures even in black and white. But you can turn on the light for full color pics and videos. Videos are real nice too.

Birdfy Cam - Versatile Standalone Backyard Birdwatching Camera
I just could not be any happier with this camera! The moments it captures along with the videos are amazing! I actually bought two more to set up when my birdbath and water features are complete and I’m so excited to what new images I’ll get. Thank you Birdfy for catching the moments I may miss!
Birdfy Cam - Versatile Standalone Backyard Birdwatching Camera
This is a very wide angle lens with a very short focus and trigger distance. Great up close to a feeder but doesnt work too well if the subjects are more than 3 feet away.
After purchasing my first camera with a solar power I realized there was an adapter to be able to have 2 cameras plugged into it! Immediately bought an additional camera to be able to see my ground feeder. I’m honestly surprised that even at a distance I can still see/identify birds and get motion alerts still!
Birdfy Cam - Versatile Standalone Backyard Birdwatching Camera
Great buy!! I even just bought a second one for my Mom!!
Wanted to be able to watch my birds but with my tray feeder. Bought this camera to try and see if I’d work the way I wanted to. Needless to say… I LOVE IT! I prefer to use tray feeders so I’m so happy Birdfy offers just a camera! I actually just bought another one so I can watch my ground feeder as well!
I absolutely adore this camera! I enjoy moving it around the feeding station to capture the birds on the different feeders. Because I move it so often (and feel like I’m missing out), I just ordered a second and third identical camera. Now I will be able to have a designated camera on my tray feeder (my fav), one by my bird bath, and one I can rotate for the other feeders. The app is easy to use and the quality is wonderful. The battery lasts roughly 5 days. This is the best non-feeder-attached camera I have found for my birds. I love the notifications - my Apple Watch alerts me every time a bird is in frame. Overall this product brightens my day and has greatly improved my bird hobby!
Bear ate the birdseed
Just set up my Mother's day present and look who dropped in! So excited to see the birdies I can hear but rarely see.
Loved the feeder cam...so got this to see what else I could do...put it by my bird bath...got completely different birds...makes me happy! Great quality..easy to move
This was my first Birdfy product and have since bought a feeder and bath. PROS: Camera quality is very good, and the separate panel makes optimizing the install very easy. Battery life is pretty good, and camera clarity is great. This is a fantastic budget start to smart birding. It will do exactly what you need it to do with a few gripes. CONS: image was flipped upside down out of the box, which made me very confused on installation before I realized it was a manufacturer error. Support was able to flip the image remotely the next day. Unfortunately this camera model doesn’t have all of the configuration options other models seem to have out of the box, so it took a while for support to recognize the issue. I have also had to reset the camera a few times to get motion capture to work the following day, which is an irritation.
Birdfy Cam 2K - Smart Birdwatching Camera Traditional bird feeder companion
Absolutely LOVE it! I had no idea the additional birds I've been missing that are on the Oriole jelly feeder!
This has been such a wonderful addition to our existing bird feeder set up.
Love it, short range wifi might require booster for outdoor use.
