The metal housing is treated with a rust-resistant coating and has passed a 48-hour salt spray test without rusting. Under normal outdoor conditions, it can resist rust for up to 2 years.
Note: In coastal areas with high humidity and salt exposure, or regions with acid rain, it is recommended to regularly clean and rinse the metal housing with fresh water to prolong its lifespan.
Once your Birdfy device is paired, simply wait for the first bird to visit! All detected activity will be shown in the Moment section on the Birdfy app's home screen.
To view a list of all the recorded content, tap the name of your Birdfy device. If AI Bird Recognition is activated and a bird is successfully identified, a bird name tag will appear underneath the corresponding video.
Yes. In the Birdfy app, you can share your feeder with an unlimited number of accounts. Simply follow the app's instructions: My Devices > Settings > How to Share. Shared guests will have access to the live feed and recorded clips. But they will not be able to alter any settings or delete your videos.
Absolutely! The Birdfy Feeder Metal V comes with unlimited cloud storage, with a 30-day retention period. Videos recorded over 30 days ago will be deleted. So be sure to download your favorites or save them permanently to your collection.

I was able to set this up in 5 minutes. Great pictures and videos. I wish the lifetime AI covered all products. The camera produces good pictures/video and the battery is decent (seems to use about 30% per day with the 20m interval setting -- but you probably want to buy the optional solar panel). Note that the button labels are confusing, as the power buttons turns it on, but the "restart" button turns it off. The software makes setup pretty easy, and is better than most for day-to-day use. Filling with seed is probably best done by taking the feeder down, rather than trying to raise its roof while it is hanging.
I recently purchased the new Birdfy Feeder Metal V. It is a very well-constructed metal unit, with a good-sized seed bin as well as a suet cage. After setting it up, it easily linked to my Wi-Fi on the first try. I put it out in the late afternoon, but no birds found it. However, the next morning, in a light snow, it was discovered, and has been busy ever since. The video quality is very good, and it shoots in portrait mode, so it’s great for sharing on a phone. I am very pleased with my purchase and can strongly recommend it.
