I love the concept of this free standing camera which i own 3! They capture precise, clear videos and with the bendable arm extension can be moved and adjusted based on the feeder height and size. Close ups are so clear and very impressive. Highly suggest adding this very affordable addition to your feeders. I've paired mine with a solar panel so there's no need to bring it inside to charge the battery. Love it.

No issues with charging. Staying at 100% after the initial charge. Squirrels haven’t made its way to feeder so can’t report with cable stability

I purchased the 3W panel with the regular cord. The charging cord fits tightly in its port on the back of the feeder, and it took a couple of tries to get it seated properly. The feeder charged fully over the next 1-2 days and has remained at full charge. I like the flexible mounting arm for the panel. That's a smart design.

After the Raccoon chewed through the first cord, I ordered a chew "proof" cord with panel. The cord really didn't look that different than the first one. Someone told me to Vaseline the post feeder sat on. It worked!! Raccoon hasn't climbed that post since. 😂

I am pleased with the solar panel. It charges the Birdfy camera. I have to reconnect my camera every morning, because it drops my network. This is probably because Birdfy will not connect to my EEROs extenders that are 2.4G capable. Fix this and I would be completely satisfied.

I finished setting this up Saturday evening and the battery was around 70%. By Wednesday afternoon the solar panel has recharged it up to 100%. It gets plenty of visitors and the camera is activated quite often. So far I very happy with this solar panel.

I have solar panels on both my feeder and my nest box. Both were easy to install and do a great job of keeping my camera batteries charged. I have not had any issues with them and one has been in place for over a year.
Great product - really contributes to learning more about the birds in your backyard!! Purchased the solar panel after the fact and it as a simple task to install - well worth the buy.

The solar panel has been very helpful to keep the Birdfy feeder charged, even while the wintry weather has been kind of dreary and cloudy. I am very satisfied with the performance of the panel. It was very easy to install, installed in less the 15 minutes. Now I can easily photograph and video the birds visiting the feeder non stop! Love it! Thank you! EvieC
So far so good! It's not staying in that location permanently but works for now! Easy to use and assemble.
Just got a break in the weather that enabled me to install the solar panel. Time will tell how well it works. However I’m very impressed with the quality of the packaging and the included parts. Everything I need to install and connect the panel was included, no scrounging around in my garage was required. Once installed and connected, the status of the panel was displayed on the Live screen as a little lightning bolt across the battery symbol as is typical. The flexible mounting shaft will allow me to turn the panel to catch the maximum amount of sunlight as the season changes.
Piece of mind. I live my bird feeder, but when I need to charge it up i became sad to miss some action. I tried to do a hand held portable charger and rigged it up, but it didn't do a good job. So I would bring my bird feeder in to charge it. Now the solar panel is working like a charm. The birds like it too. They look at it and even sat on it. Best thing I bought.
I got this to add to my nest box so it can charge better and so far, it is working very well!

The build quality of this add-on is pretty remarkable for the price. The fasteners, cable, solar panel, mounting hardware...from beginning to end, this is a must-have for those of us who don't wish to constantly check the rechargeable battery life of our devices, and, scramble up the pole to unmount the feeder, and then, bring it inside, hook it up, charge it to full capacity (checking on it every so often), and then, reassembling and re-mounting said unit. Kudos to the designers, and thank you for making something sturdy enough to withstand our variable climate here in the northeaster USA.

I am using a Birdfy solar panel on my Birdfy Feeder Pro Duo, and it works perfectly. On days with bright sun, the camera gets charged to 100%. Even when there is little sun, it keeps the battery level from dropping. An excellent product.

We are looking forward to getting our feeder reinstalled and repaired. Our feeder was too close to our home and the squirrels climbed our stone chimney and leaped to the solar panel installed above the feeder to climb down to the food. They unplugged the solar panel and chewed off the USB-C connector. We only had the feeder operational for two days and only squirrels as visitors. We are looking forward a suitable location that is 10’ from anything a squirrel could jump from. We were surprised that the included solar panel cable was not chew proof. I live in Michigan where we have squirrels and chipmunks. I thought the squirrel baffle would have been sufficient deterrence.

I originally bought the unit with the 3w solar panel. squirrels chewed thru the wire. When I went to buy a replacement I saw you added a 5w optional panel with tough wire. so far the new panel does better keeping the camera charged (i'm in Michigan). I'm optimistic I can get thru the winter months, I'm quite pleased so far.
